Today was an exciting day, as it marked the first day I decided to start my production journalling journey!
After having a very nice discussion with the first artist I am producing, Brandon Theriault, I made up my mind to affirm daily that I am going to be a producer. This is an exciting time, because having this daily affirmation statement will allow me to progress daily on my career in music production!
Although I didn’t actually get around to doing some actual production work today, I took the time to go to Best Buy to buy a new hard-drive to get everything setup for future productions.
I currently have 2 external hard drives I have been using..
- The first was for school work primarily
- The second was designed to be a music only hard drive
I believe organizing your workflow is very important as a producer, which is why I decided to take the time to define my organization skills.
My new organizational workflow will be setup:
- One hard drive will be dedicated to plugins, samples, and virtual instruments
- The second hard drive will be for all the project files for my clients
- The final hard-drive will be for everything else, whether that is my old school work, or any previous course notes I have taken.
- The new hard-drive I bought is a Seagate 2TB hard drive, which I thought would be enough storage for now for these virtual instruments and plugins.
